Privacy policy

What we collect

If you join the early-access waitlist, you give us only an email address; we also record the time you signed up. The waitlist entry also stores a study stream and a target year, but today the sign-up form sets those to a fixed default itself (“Science” and 2026) rather than letting you choose them.

If you create an account (not available yet), you sign in with Google through Firebase, and we store your Firebase user ID, when you consented and to which version of this policy, and the study profile you fill in — things like your stage, curriculum, grades, budget and district. We never log the contents of your profile.

We use Google Analytics. In production, this page loads Google’sgtag.jsand sends it a page-view event on each page you visit. By nature, that script sends Google the page URL, the referrer, device and browser information, your IP address, and a cookie identifier (_ga). It is switched off on localhost and whenever the site is run with analytics disabled. We have not configured any other Google Analyticssetting in our site code. Settings on Google’s side — such as enhanced measurement, Google signals, or Google Analytics’ own data retention — are managed in Google Analytics and are not yet recorded in this policy.

Children and under-18s

Creating an account requires you to declare that you are 18 or over. Once accounts ship (not available yet), if you are under 18 you will be able to use UniScope’s profile and matching tools anonymously instead: your details stay on this device. Nothing is sent to UniScope. Your profile would be kept only in your browser’s local storage, evaluation would run in your browser, and we would never see it.

Where your data is stored

Our servers are physically located in Australia. If you are in Bangladesh, this means your data crosses a border to reach us — a cross-border transfer. Sign-in data handled through Firebase is also stored outside Bangladesh, in Google’s Firebase infrastructure, and data sent to Google Analytics is processed by Google outside Bangladesh too.

How long we keep it

Waitlist entries

Your waitlist entry is kept until you ask us to delete it.

Backups

Daily backups of our university database are kept for 30 days and then deleted, so anything we delete at your request is gone from backups within 30 days. Copies of the public university web pages behind each figure are kept indefinitely. Waitlist emails are not in these backups.

Access logs

We do not keep web access logs. The app’s own console output is kept in rolling files of about 30 MB per instance, and older entries are overwritten; there is no fixed time period.

Google Analytics

We have not set a retention period for Google Analytics data in our own site code. Any retention period on Google’s side is managed in Google Analytics and is not yet recorded in this policy.

Deleting your data

To have your waitlist entry deleted, email info@wizardsofts.com from the address you signed up with. Once accounts ship, deleting your account hard- deletes your account, profile, shortlist and waitlist entry; it never touches your shared WizardSofts sign-in, only UniScope’s own rows.
